Make in India - PM Modi

In a bid to promote Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and push India’s ‘Make in India’ cause, the government’s procurement portal, Government e-Marketplace (GeM), has made it mandatory for sellers to mention ‘country of origin’ on products they wish to sell through the platform. The Government e-Marketplace (GEM) has also enabled a provision for the indication of the percentage of local content in products with a view to promote ‘Make in India’. “GeM has taken a significant step towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat and has made it mandatory for sellers to enter the country of origin while registering all new products on GeM,” the portal’s CEO Talleen Kumar told news agency PTI. Sellers, who had already uploaded their products before the introduction of this new feature on GeM, are being reminded regularly to update the country of origin, with a warning that their products will be “removed” from the platform if they fail to update the same, he said. “With this new feature, now, the c

#Boycott_Chinese_products जय हिंद 🇮🇳 --------------------------------------------------------------   If we get even a little quarrel with a shopkeeper, then we stop buying goods from his shop for life.  Maybe I have said it right.  Think a little, there is such a big dispute on the border of India and China and everyone is aware that this dispute has started by China, so can we not teach them a lesson by boycotting their goods.  Keep in mind - This war can be won by boycotting Chinese g

Remake of an Old Classic 1 : Self-Reliant Bharat

Image
My parents loved Raj Kapoor. The first hero of a self-reliant India, simple, endearing and trusting. I loved my parents. So, we went to see Prem Rog. The film started with an aimless tuneless song and even my father had to say, what’s he (Raj Kapoor) doing?  By the time the song, Yeh Galiyaan Yeh Chaubara (yahaan aana na dobara, ki hum to ho gaye pardesi, ki yahan tera koi nahin) began to play on screen, the master had taken a grip of the plot. The pattern got repeated in his next film. It started with the   inane ‘Main Hi Main Hoon, Doosra Koi Nahin’ song, that now seems prophetic as a description of the modern hero. From ‘Aawara Hoon’ to ‘Hothon pe Sachai Rehti ha’i to ‘Mere Sapnon ki raani kab aayegi tu’, to ‘Main hi main hoon, doosra koi nahin’ ‒ the playbacks roughly sums up the mindset of our heroes.  In Covid times, has the Indian government (that began with aimless measures) taken a grip on the situation?  Are they entertaining us, governing us, keeping us safe or marching us

REQUESTS of PM Modi

Image
This happens in our brain due to "cognitive dissonance" This is because if someone asks us for a second favour,we make up our mind [assume] that we like them. And through his policy announcements, PM Modi doesn't give us an instruction nor an order. but he asks us for a favour, REQUESTS. For the Clean India Mission [Swachh Bharat Abhiyan]he [Modi] requested us 2 hours of our time, every week. For demonetisation, he [Modi] said we would have to face problems for some time. He requested us to return [give up] LPG subsidies, and even made a similar appeal [request]to clap for corona warriors. And, through such appeals where PM Modi asks us for favours, there are 2 advantages. First, his likeability increases as per Benjamin Franklin effect. And, in the second place, many responsibilities are moved from the PM towards the citizens. So even if these policy schemes don't work out,the Govt. will not be the only one responsible for it. Some portion of the blame [for its failu

This article is from November 2016. [Demonetisation] "...Everyone will have to face problems for some time. I and everyone here are facing problems, But it is not a problem. The queue keeps moving  In the end, at least something good will happen [through demonetisation]"  This article is from April 2019. [General Elections] : Why is Modi your first preference? And,interestingly why is Akhilesh Yadav, second?  Person: Except for Unemployment, they [Modi Govt.] have done good work on other issues. But Unemployment should be your biggest issue, right?  Person: Yes, Unemployment is the biggest issue.  Person: But they've started working on it. In the next term, they'll work more on it [unemployment]. In both these articles, you would be able to notice one common aspect [feature]. In spite of the deep economic and social impacts of Modi Govt's. major policy decisions, people are not criticising[finding fault with] him (Modi). In fact, they are praising him [Modi]. Th

Startups eligible for relief under Aatmanirbhar Bharat : Piyush Goyal

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has said most startups will be eligible for additional liquidity and funding under the credit and  funding support announced for MSMEs  under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan package. Goyal told that the government is ready to support stressed startups. "Most of the startups will be eligible for additional liquidity and funding under the Rs 3 lakh crore, 100% credit guarantee credit facilities under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat package," Goyal said in an interview with the channel on Saturday. "Apart from that, Sidbi gets financial assistance through the government of India, and through the Startup India Fund we are able to supplement SIDBI’s efforts to provide adequate funding to startups. I have had discussions with startups to understand their issues and have also had SEBI, RBI, SIDBI on discussions with startups and the venture capital industry. We are conscious of their concerns and we will handhold and support companies which are stressed,&

Farmers Contribution Of COVID-19

Image
True self-reliance won’t come from relentless industrialisation, but from localisation and decentralisation, as demonstrated by these remarkable stories of empowered rural communities . Not so long ago, Dalit women farmers in Telangana used to face hunger and deprivation. Today, they have contributed foodgrains for pandemic relief. Farmers on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border have been sending organic produce to Bengaluru even during the lockdown. And Adivasi villages in central India are using community funds to take care of migrant workers who have returned home. These inspiring stories show the potential of empowered rural communities to cope with crisis. And they expose the tragedy of a path of ‘ development ’ and governance that has not recognised or, worse, taken away the extraordinary agency of ordinary villagers to manage their lives. Take Chandramma , who grows 40 varieties of crops, chemical free, on her rainfed plot in Bidakanne village in the Medak district

What Is Self Reliance?

Image
Self Reliance is defined by The Free Dictionary as the “Reliance on one’s own capabilities, judgment, or resources; independence” . Most searches of the term “self-reliance” on the Internet also return this description.  “Self-Reliance is an essay written by American transcendentalist philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson .” In his notorious essay, written in 1841 , Emerson himself defined self-reliance as “the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his or her own instincts and ideas”. One of Emerson’s most famous quotations went like this, “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.” Or, as Albert Einstein famously coined about insanity, “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”. Self-reliance is based on the fundamental belief that you can, and should, change and control your circumstances. I have and so can you. Self-Relianc

Pencil : By Mikhail Gorbachev

Image
Mikhail Gorbachev has written this in his autobiography...   In his younger days, while studying in Europe... He used to study along with two Japanese students. 2nd World War had come to an end & Japan  had not only been completely destroyed, but was facing crippling economic sanctions  as well.During the classes, these 2 Japanese students used to take turns to write the notes, while the other student would mend the pencil & keep it ready for use, bcoz in those days, the Japanese pencils used to be of inferior quality & the lead tip of the pencil used to be very brittle, & thus used to break frequently.*   *Fellow students advised, why not they start using the far superior pencils  made in England, which were not expensive either anyways.   There were tears in the eyes of both the Japanese students. "If we ourselves do no purchase & use our own product, then who else will do it. We don't deny we cannot withstand the quality test today, but the

The Horse and A Stag : The Result of Dependence on Others

Image
A  horse came to a man to be saved. You know, there was a time once when man too lived in the jungles. The horse also lived in the jungles, the deer and the stags too lived in the jungles, as they do in these days. A horse was once worsted in a fight with a stag. The stag stab bed him with his antlers. The horse came to the man to seek help. The man said, "All right, I will help you. I have arrows in my hands. You take me on your back and I will go and kill your enemies." The man rode on the back of the horse, went into the forest and killed the stag. They came home victorious. The horse was very happy. Now the horse wanted to go. The horse thanked the man, and said, "Dear sir, I thank you. Now I want to leave you." The man came up and said, "O horse, O horse, where do you want to go? Now that I have come to know how useful you are, I will not let you go. You have to be my servant you have to become my slave." The horse was saved from the stags, the deer

"Go, go and Come, come" : Self-Reliance Story

Image
Two brothers involved in litigation appeared before a Magistrate. One of them was a millionaire, the other a pauper. The Magistrate asked the millionaire how it was that he became so rich and his brother so poor. He said: “Five years ago we inherited equal property from our parents. Fifty thousand dollars fell to his share and fifty thousand dollars to me. This man, regarding himself as wealthy, became lazy, and whatever work was to be done he entrusted to his servants. If he received a letter, he would give it to his servants and say, 'Go, attend to this business.' Anything that was to be accomplished he told his servants to do. He lolled away his time in ease and comfort. 'Eat, drink, and be merry.' He would always bid his servants, 'Go, go' attend to this business or that." Speaking of himself the rich man said: "When I got my fifty thousand dollars, I never committed my work to anybody; when anything was to be none, I would always run to do it

# VOCAL_FOR_LOCAL                                                             If tomorrow China captured India , it would be our own fault. B ritishers had also salved India by the means of trade, although that time we were illiterate but now we are all educated and intelligent enough to see forward our Country’s growth and development.   VOCAL FOR LOCAL   a great strategy by our PM . If we all Indians, just for 90 days don’t go for any foreign made products and buy locally made products then, INDIA can become world’s second richest country, Just in 90 days value of 1 Dollar($) will equalise to Indian 2 Rupees (₹) .   If we Indians spread this message and follow the motto of VOCAL FOR LOCAL ,it will become a movement just like we did last year on Diwali for non buying Chinese lightings and China had to face a great loss , dumping 20% of its over all production and China was astonished.   We Indians if boycott Chinese or any foreign made product then it will prove to be

You will get a glimpse of these in the bold decisions recently taken by us.” PM Modi went on to add that being self reliant or "Aatmanirbhar" means that we should not be dependent on others for our needs. Reminding about his 'vocal for local' call PM urged enterprises to make products in India, that can be sold around the world. “ Self-reliant India (Aatmanirbhar Bharat) is about -- Strong enterprises; generating employment; empowering people to come out and find solutions. Now, the need is that we make those products that are made in India , but made for the world. We have to cut our imports. India must not be depe
